Client: Sustainable Energy Development Authority of NSW
Exergy developed the technical basis of this scheme and continues
to have a strong hand in its technical operation. As a performance
based rating scheme for office buildings, the Australian Building
Greenhouse Rating scheme has set a precedent for energy efficiency
rating systems internationally and has achieved high levels of support
within the property industry.

Fleet First — Program development and case studies
Client: Energy Efficiency Best Practice Team at the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources
Spiralling vehicle fuel use is one of the greatest challenges facing
the world, and yet few have attempted to address the problem head
on. Exergy developed Fleet First to take on this challenge. The
products developed included a best practice guide for fleet managers,
a fleet management practice rating scheme and fuel use database,
and case studies that identified the key steps that organisations
can take to improve the performance of their fleet.

Working Energy — Resource kit and building evaluation tool
Client: Australian Greenhouse Office
Working Energy is a comprehensive resource kit and training package
for energy managers in Commonwealth and local government organisations.
Exergy stakeholder research was used to clearly identify the needs
of the end-user group, which were then translated into a substantial,
easy to use internet-based tool. Enthusiasm about the product from
stakeholders prompted the recent extension of the package to the
local government sector. As part of the Working Energy package,
Exergy also developed an internet-based tool for the evaluation
of occupant satisfaction in offices, using a combination of new
work and international research. This tool enables a user to conduct
a post-occupancy evaluation of a large building in a fraction of
the time of a normal paper based evaluation.

Star Performer – Building energy expert system
Client: Commonwealth Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources
Exergy developed Star Performer to show building owners and occupants
how to reduce energy use and improve their rating under the Australian
Building Greenhouse Rating scheme. Star Performer is an internet-based
expert system that addresses all the key issues in energy use for
office buildings in Australia.
